The River Des Peres Trash Bash brings the community together to restore and protect a vital local waterway. In partnership with Olivette Parks and Recreation, Olivette Sustainability Advocates, and Open Space STL, volunteers help remove litter and debris to improve water quality and support wildlife. This hands-on effort promotes environmental stewardship while enhancing local parks and green spaces. Join us in making a lasting impact on the health of the River des Peres and the greater St. Louis region.
Date: Saturday, October 24 | 9:00-11:00 am Meeting point: 1200 N Warson Rd - Five Oaks on Warson parking lot Important Info: Completed Volunteer Waiver form required | Children under 14 years of age must be supervised by an adult. What to wear: Sturdy shoes or waders that protect the entire foot. You will get dirty, so wear suitable clothing. Volunteers may want to bring: something to drink/snacks; sunscreen; towel; extra shoes City will provide gloves and mesh bags for trash collection. We will also have a first aid kit and hand sanitizer.
Passport to Clean Water and River des Peres Watershed Coalition Picnic at Deer Creek Park Following a morning of hard work cleaning up trash, River des Peres volunteers are invited to attend a picnic and watershed celebration at Deer Creek Park. Please join us as we celebrate our successes and feast upon pulled pork sandwiches, salad, and rolls from Texas Roadhouse, in addition to hot dogs, veggies dogs, fried fish (caught by a local fisherman!), chips, soft drinks, beer from 4 Hands Brewing Co., and so much more! This event is hosted in partnership with the River des Peres Watershed Coalition, Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, Great Rivers Greenway, and the EarthWays Center and sponsored by Woodard Cleaning & Restoration. Join us here for Passport to Clean Water, an educational event where kids can learn about regional land and water stewardship in the River des Peres watershed. The picnic and Passport to Clean Water will take place from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 24th with a variety of organizations providing hands-on activities for kids.
